Meat processing and food manufacturing

At Kirkconnel, Brown Brothers runs butchery, cooking, high-risk and slicing operations, with laser slicing lines, high-speed slicers and thermoforming. A 2023 extension added Scottish pork butchery capacity, more cooking capacity and a new blast freezer.
Hall's of Scotland's two Prestwick factories can produce more than 1,000 tonnes a week. Fenton Barns makes poultry and Scottish specialities in East Lothian, and FoodPro makes ready meals in Wigan.
