Privacy notice

How we use the personal information you give us through this website, and your rights under UK data protection law.
To confirm with Browns: This notice is a starting draft for your data protection officer or adviser to check. Please confirm the contact for data requests, your ICO registration number, and how long enquiries are kept.

Who we are

Browns Food Group Limited (company number SC236133, registered in Scotland), Kelloholm Industrial Estate, Greystone Avenue, Kelloholm, Kirkconnel, Dumfriesshire, DG4 6RB, is the controller of personal information collected through this website. You can contact us about your data at request.info@brownbrothers.net, on 01659 66405, or by writing to the Data Protection Officer at our head office.

What we collect, and why

  • Enquiries. When you use our contact form, we collect your name, email address, and (if you give them) your phone number, company, sector and message. We use them only to reply to your enquiry and deal with it. Our lawful basis is your consent, which you give by ticking the box on the form, and our legitimate interest in answering business enquiries.
  • Job applications. Applications are made on our careers site, careers.brownsfoodgroup.com, which has its own privacy agreement.
  • Analytics. If you accept statistics cookies, we use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used. See our cookie policy.

We don't use your details for marketing, and we never sell them.

Who we share it with

Our website is hosted by Vercel. Enquiries are stored in a database run by Neon in London and may be forwarded to our team by email through Formspree. Cloudflare delivers our images and, where enabled, checks that forms are sent by people rather than bots. Each acts only on our instructions. Some of these services may process data outside the UK, under the safeguards UK law requires.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiries only as long as we need them to deal with your request, and then delete them.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your information, ask us to correct or delete it, object to or restrict how we use it, or withdraw your consent at any time. Contact us using the details above. If you're not happy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
